Galatians 4:14
Chechen 2012 (Делан Йозанаш)
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from Galatians, Paul is talking to the people in Galatia about a time when he was sick and they accepted him anyway. He says that despite his illness, they welcomed him like an angel or even Christ Jesus himself.
Explained for Children
Imagine you had a friend who got very sick, but instead of staying away, everyone welcomed them with open arms and treated them as special guests. That's what Paul is saying happened to him when he was sick in Galatia.
Historical Background
This verse comes from the letter written by Apostle Paul to the churches in Galatia around AD 49-56. The audience were mostly Gentile converts to Christianity, and at that time, there could be various misconceptions or tensions about Jewish customs and practices among them.
Living It Out Today
Imagine you have a co-worker who is going through a hard time due to an illness but still comes to work. Instead of avoiding them, you can choose to support and welcome them warmly, just as Paul was received in Galatia.
