V roce tartánova příchodu do Ašdódu, když ho byl poslal Sargón, král Aššúru (pak se jal proti Ašdódu bojovat a dobyl ho),

v oné době promluvil Hospodin skrze Isaju, syna Ámócova, výrokem: Jdi a svlékni pytlovinu ze svých boků a svůj sandál nechť stahuješ ze své nohy. I učinil tak - jal se chodit nahý a bos;

a Hospodin řekl: Jako můj nevolník Isajá chodí tři léta nahý a bos, - znamení a náznak proti Egyptu a proti Kúši, -
4
tak povede král Aššúru obyvatele Egypta a odvedenectvo Kúše, mladíky i starce, nahé a bosé a obnažené na zadku - hanba Egypta.
5
I zděsí se a zastydí se za Kúš, předmět své důvěry, a za Egypt, svou chloubu,
6
a obyvatel stvo tohoto pobřeží v onen den řekne: Hle, tak ový je předmět naší důvěry, kam jsme prchli pro pomoc, k svému vyproštění z moci krále; a jak budeme moci vyváznout my?
