Jeremiah 29:9
Czech SNC
What Does This Mean?
This verse is from God, warning the people that some prophets are telling lies, saying God sent them when He did not. God is clarifying that He has not authorized these false messages.
Explained for Children
Imagine if your friend told you that your mom said you could eat all the candy you want, but your mom actually didn't say that. That's what's happening here, but with prophets telling people lies in God's name.
Historical Background
Jeremiah wrote this around 587 BC to the people of Judah who were in exile in Babylon. The false prophets were giving false hope and misleading messages, which God wanted to correct.
Living It Out Today
In today's world, we should be cautious about believing everything we hear or read, especially when it claims to come from God. Always verify the source and seek truth.
