Ein Psalm Davids. Herr, ich rufe zu dir, eile zu mir! Schenke meiner Stimme Gehör, wenn ich dich anrufe!

Lass mein Gebet wie Räucherwerk gelten vor dir, das Aufheben meiner Hände wie das Abendopfer.

Herr, stelle eine Wache an meinen Mund, bewahre die Tür meiner Lippen!

Lass mein Herz sich nicht zu einer bösen Sache neigen, dass ich gottlose Taten vollbringe mit Männern, die Übeltäter sind; und von ihren Leckerbissen lass mich nicht genießen!
5
Der Gerechte schlage mich, das ist Gnade; und er züchtige mich, das ist Öl für mein Haupt, und mein Haupt soll sich nicht dagegen sträuben, wenn es auch wiederholt geschieht; ich bete nur gegen ihre Bosheiten.

Wenn ihre Richter den Felsen hinabgestürzt worden sind, so werden sie auf meine Worte hören, dass sie lieblich sind.
7
Wie wenn einer die Erde pflügt und aufreißt, so sind unsere Gebeine hingestreut am Rand des Totenreichs.
8
Darum sind meine Augen auf dich gerichtet, o Herr, [mein] Herr; bei dir suche ich Zuflucht; schütte meine Seele nicht aus!
9
Bewahre mich vor der Schlinge, die sie mir gelegt haben, vor den Fallen der Übeltäter!
10
Die Gottlosen sollen alle miteinander in ihre eigenen Netze fallen, während ich daran vorübergehe!
