Isaiah 14:27 — English NET Bible - 2005 (New English Translation)
Indeed, the LORD who commands armies has a plan, and who can possibly frustrate it? His hand is ready to strike, and who can possibly stop it?
What Does This Mean?
This verse says that God has made a plan, and no one can change it. His power is outstretched, and no one can stop it. It is from God, who is speaking through the prophet Isaiah.
Explained for Children
Imagine if your mom said she was going to take you to the park, and she was as powerful as a superhero. Nothing could stop her from taking you there. That's what this verse is saying about God's plans.
Historical Background
Isaiah wrote this around 700 BC to the people of Judah. The Assyrian Empire was threatening them, and this verse was meant to give hope and reassurance that God's plans would prevail.
Living It Out Today
If you're facing a difficult situation and feel powerless, remember that God's plans cannot be changed. His strength will see you through, just as a parent's promise to a child is unbreakable.
