El SEÑOR me dirigió la palabra:

«Hijo de hombre, ¿en qué supera la leña de la vid a la madera de los árboles del bosque?

Esa leña no sirve para hacer muebles, ¡y ni siquiera para hacer una percha!

¡Escasamente sirve para alimentar el fuego! Pero ¿de qué sirve cuando sus extremos se consumen y ya se ha quemado por dentro?

Si cuando estaba entera no servía para nada, ¡mucho menos cuando ya ha sido consumida por el fuego!

»Por tanto, así dice el SEÑOR omnipotente: Como la leña de la vid, que sólo sirve para echarla al fuego, así haré con los habitantes de Jerusalén.

Voy a enfrentarme a ellos; ¡se han librado de un fuego, pero serán consumidos por otro! Cuando me enfrente a ellos, ustedes sabrán que yo soy el SEÑOR.
8
Convertiré a este país en desolación, porque ha sido infiel. Lo afirma el SEÑOR omnipotente.»
