¿Qué significa esto?
This verse from 1 John tells us that any spirit or belief that does not acknowledge Jesus Christ as having come in the flesh is not of God and can be identified as antichrist. The speaker, John, warns about this spirit being present in their world.
Explicado para niños
Imagine you have a favorite toy. Now imagine someone says your toy isn't real or doesn’t exist. That would make you sad because you know it’s true. Similarly, God wants us to know that Jesus really came to earth as a person, and anyone who denies this is not telling the truth.
Contexto histórico
The Apostle John wrote this letter in approximately AD 95 to Christian communities in Asia Minor. The cultural setting was one where various beliefs about Christ's incarnation were emerging, leading John to clarify the true nature of Jesus’ presence on earth.
Aplicación para hoy
In today’s world, we can apply this by being cautious of teachings that deny the humanity and divinity of Jesus Christ. For instance, if someone claims Jesus didn’t really exist as a human, remember this verse and know such a belief is not from God.
