¿Qué significa esto?
In Luke 11:39, Jesus is talking to the Pharisees and points out that while they clean the outside of their cups and dishes, their hearts are full of greed and evil thoughts.
Explicado para niños
Imagine you have a toy box. You can keep it shiny on the outside, but if inside your toys are broken or you don't treat them well, it's not really clean inside. Jesus is saying that some people care too much about how things look on the outside and forget to be nice and kind inside.
Contexto histórico
This verse was written by Luke, a physician and companion of Paul, around AD 80-100 for Gentile Christians. The Pharisees were a Jewish religious group known for their strict observance of laws and traditions. Jesus is addressing them to highlight the hypocrisy in their actions.
Aplicación para hoy
In modern times, this verse can be applied when someone puts on a good front but behaves badly behind closed doors. For example, an employee who seems perfect at work but engages in unethical practices outside the office should consider the importance of integrity and honesty.
