¿Qué significa esto?
In Mark 2:19, Jesus explains that just like guests at a wedding celebration cannot fast while the bridegroom is present, his disciples do not need to fast because he is with them.
Explicado para niños
Imagine you're having a birthday party. When your best friend (the birthday person) is there, would you want to be sad or fasting? No way! Jesus says it's like that for him and his friends too – when the bridegroom (Jesus) is around, everyone should celebrate and not fast.
Contexto histórico
The Gospel of Mark was written by John Mark in the early 60s AD. It details Jesus' teachings and miracles to a primarily Gentile audience, providing insight into Jewish customs like fasting at that time.
Aplicación para hoy
This verse can be applied today when we think about living joyfully in Christ’s presence. Just as you wouldn’t want your birthday party to be gloomy, Christians should live with joy while Jesus is ‘with them’ through the Holy Spirit.
