This verse describes Jesus leaving the temple with his disciples following him. The disciples point out the impressive buildings of the temple to Jesus.
Explicado para niños
Imagine you and your friends are walking away from a really big playground, and your friend points at all the cool slides and swings saying 'Look how amazing this place is!' That's kind of like what Jesus' followers did when they were leaving the big, fancy temple building.
Contexto histórico
This verse was written by Matthew, one of Jesus' disciples, around 80-90 AD. The audience was likely early Christians and Jews who knew about the grandeur of the Second Temple in Jerusalem which was destroyed shortly after these events were recorded.
Aplicación para hoy
Today, we might see someone pointing out a big church or community center with awe and wonder. Jesus' disciples are doing this as they leave the temple, showing how deeply impressed they were by its grand architecture, but also setting up for later lessons about true value versus external appearances.
