Ha ! Terre où retentit le bruissement des ailes, au-delà des fleuves de Cus;

toi qui envoies par mer des messagers dans des nacelles de jonc sur la face des eaux ! Allez, messagers rapides, vers la nation à la taille élancée, à la peau rasée, vers le peuple redouté au loin, nation qui nivelle et qui écrase, et dont la terre est sillonnée de fleuves.

Vous tous, habitants du monde, et vous qui demeurez sur la terre, quand l'étendard sera élevé sur les montagnes, regardez ! et quand la trompette sonnera, soyez attentifs !

Car ainsi m'a dit l'Eternel: Je serai tranquille et je regarderai de ma demeure, comme une chaleur sereine en un beau jour, comme un nuage de rosée dans la chaleur de la moisson.

Car avant la moisson, quand la floraison sera achevée et que la fleur deviendra une grappe mûrissante, il coupera les sarments à coups de serpette; il ôtera, retranchera les rameaux.

Ils seront livrés tous ensemble aux vautours des montagnes et aux bêtes de la terre: les vautours en feront leur pâture pendant l'été, et les bêtes de la terre pendant l'hiver.

En ce temps-là, une offrande sera apportée à l'Eternel des armées par le peuple à la taille élancée, à la peau rasée, par le peuple redouté au loin, nation qui nivelle et qui écrase, et dont la terre est sillonnée de fleuves, au lieu où l'on invoque l'Eternel des armées, sur la montagne de Sion !
