O Dieu, ╵sors donc de ton silence, ne te tais pas ! ╵Ne reste pas dans l’inaction, ô Dieu !

Voici, tes ennemis s’agitent, et ceux qui te haïssent ╵ont levé haut la tête.
4
Contre ton peuple, ils se concertent, ils trament des complots ╵contre les tiens, que tu protèges.
5
Ils ont dit : « Exterminons-les, ╵et que leur nation disparaisse afin que le nom d’Israël ╵soit oublié. »

Ils se sont consultés, ╵d’accord entre eux, et ils ont conclu une alliance ╵pour s’opposer à toi :

enfants d’Edom, Ismaélites, Moabites et Agaréniens
8
Guébal, Ammon et Amalec, les Philistins ╵avec les habitants de Tyr ;
9
et même l’Assyrie ╵s’est jointe à eux, prêtant main-forte aux descendants de Loth. Pause

Traite-les donc comme Madian, comme Sisera et Yabîn ╵au torrent de Qishôn.

Ils furent détruits à Eyn-Dor, laissés comme du fumier pour la terre.

Que tous leurs princes soient pareils ╵à Oreb et à Zéeb, et que leurs chefs deviennent ╵comme Zébah et Tsalmounna,

eux qui disaient : « Emparons-nous du domaine de Dieu ! »

Mon Dieu, fais-les tourbillonner comme la paille emportée par le vent ;

comme un feu brûle la forêt, comme les flammes embrasent les monts,

pourchasse-les par ta tempête ! Que, par ton ouragan, ╵ils soient épouvantés !
17
Qu’ils soient couverts d’opprobre afin qu’ils se tournent vers toi, ╵ô Eternel !
18
Qu’ils soient couverts de honte, ╵et dans l’épouvante à jamais et qu’ils périssent ╵saisis de confusion !
19
Qu’ils reconnaissent que toi seul, ╵toi dont le nom est l’Eternel, tu es le Très-Haut régnant sur la terre entière !
