Luke 5:22
Hebrew Bible (DHNT) 1885 - Delitzsch's Hebrew New Testament
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, Jesus is talking to some people who were thinking bad thoughts about Him. He knew what they were thinking and asked them why they were having those thoughts in their hearts.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a friend who can see right through you like glass and knows exactly what you're thinking! That's kind of how Jesus was with these people. He could tell they weren't happy about something, so he asked them to explain why.
Historical Background
The Gospel of Luke was written by Luke, a doctor and follower of Jesus, around 60-85 AD. It was aimed at Gentile (non-Jewish) Christians who wanted to learn more about the life of Jesus. This verse shows Jesus' divine ability to perceive thoughts.
Living It Out Today
In today's world, we often judge people based on their actions or words without really knowing what they're thinking inside. Instead of jumping to conclusions, we should try to understand others better and communicate openly like Jesus did here.
