Mark 9:25
Hebrew Bible Modern 1977
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from the Gospel of Mark, Jesus sees a crowd gathering and then commands an evil spirit to leave a man it was possessing. He tells the spirit not to return to that person.
Explained for Children
Imagine if there was a mean bully inside your friend's head making them do bad things. Jesus saw this happening and told the bully, 'Get out of my friend and never come back!'
Historical Background
Mark wrote this gospel around AD 65-70 for Roman Christians who needed encouragement. The story reflects the cultural belief in demonic possession common at that time.
Living It Out Today
When you face a recurring problem, like an addiction or bad habit, think of Jesus as the one with authority to cast it out permanently. It's not just about stopping the behavior but making sure it doesn't return.
