Zarándokének. Emlékezz, URam, Dávidra, minden viszontagságára!

Mert esküt tett az ÚRnak, fogadalmat Jákób erős Istenének:

Nem megyek be addig házamba, nem fekszem le fekvőhelyemre,

szememet nem hagyom aludni, szempilláimat nyugodni,
5
míg nem találok helyet az ÚRnak, lakóhelyet Jákób erős Istenének!
6
Hallottuk, hogy a láda Efratában van, és rátaláltunk Jaar mezőin.
7
Menjünk el lakóhelyére, boruljunk le lába zsámolyánál!
8
Indulj el, URam, új lakóhelyedre, te és hatalmad ládája!
9
Papjaid öltözzenek igazságba, híveid pedig ujjongjanak!
10
A te szolgádért, Dávidért ne fordulj el felkent királyodtól!
11
Megesküdött az ÚR Dávidnak igazán, nem másítja azt meg: Véredből való utódot ültetek trónodra.
12
Ha fiaid megtartják szövetségemet és intelmeimet, amelyekre tanítottam őket, akkor még az ő fiaik is trónodon ülnek mindvégig.

Mert a Siont választotta ki az ÚR, azt kívánta lakóhelyéül:

Ez lesz lakóhelyem örökre, itt fogok lakni, mert így kívánom!
15
Gazdagon megáldom eledelét, szegényeit jól tartom kenyérrel,
16
papjait körülveszem szabadításommal, hívei vígan ujjonganak.
17
Ott növelem meg Dávid hatalmát, gondom lesz felkentem mécsesére.
18
Ellenségeire szégyent borítok, őrajta azonban ragyogni fog koronája.
