Macedonian 2006 D - (Свето Писмо: Стандардна Библија 2006 (со Девтероканонски Книги))
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from Luke's Gospel, Jesus observes the rich men giving their offerings into the treasury of the temple. He is watching them as they give, but he isn't commenting at this moment.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're in a classroom and see some kids bringing big presents to share with everyone. Jesus saw something like that happening in the temple, where rich people were giving lots of money into a special box called the treasury.
Historical Background
Luke wrote his Gospel around AD 80-100 for Greek-speaking Christians. He includes this scene during Jesus' final days in Jerusalem to illustrate an important lesson about giving and generosity within the cultural context of temple worship.
Living It Out Today
Think about how you give, whether it's time or money, to your community or church. This verse invites us to reflect on our motivations behind giving and to consider the spirit of our offerings over their size.
