En GOD zond de engel naar Jeruzalem om het te vernietigen. Toen deze bezig was het te vernietigen, zag de HEERE het en Hij kreeg berouw over het kwaad. Hij zei tegen de verderfengel: “Het is genoeg, laat nu je hand zakken.” De engel van de HEERE stond bij de dorsvloer van de Jebusiet Ornan.
