Herre, min Gud! Eg flyr til deg; frels meg frå alle mine forfylgjarar og berga meg,
3
so ikkje fienden som ei løva skal riva sund mi sjel, brjota sund, og det er ingen som bergar!
4
Herre, min Gud! Dersom eg hev gjort dette, dersom det er urett i mine hender,
5
dersom eg hev lønt den med vondt som heldt fred med meg, og plundra den som var min fiende utan årsak,
6
so lat fienden forfylgja mi sjel og nå henne att og trakka mitt liv til jordi og leggja mi æra i moldi! Sela. /
7
Statt upp, Herre, i din vreide, reis deg mot ofsen hjå fiendane mine, og vakna upp til hjelp for meg, du som hev gjeve påbod um dom!

Lat samlingi av folkeslagi standa rundt ikring deg, og far upp att yver dei til det høge!
9
Herren held dom yver folki. Døm meg, Herre, etter mi rettferd og etter den uskyld som er hjå meg!
10
Lat då vondskapen hjå dei ugudlege få ende, og lat den rettferdige standa stødt! For du er den som prøver hjarto og nyro, ein rettferdig Gud.
11
Min skjold er hjå Gud, han frelser dei som er ærlege i hjarta.
12
Gud er ein rettferdig domar, og ein Gud som harmast kvar dag.
13
So framt han ikkje vender um, so kvesser han sitt sverd, spenner sin boge og gjer han ferdig /
14
og legg banevåpen til rettes imot han; sine piler gjer han brennande.
15
Sjå, han skal til å føda misgjerning; han er umhender med ulukka og føder lygn. /
16
Ei grav hev han grave og hola ut; men han fell i den grefti han gjorde.
17
Den ulukka han emna på, kjem att yver hans hovud, og yver hans eigen kvervel fell hans valdsverk ned.
18
Eg vil prisa Herren etter hans rettferd og lovsyngja namnet åt Herren den Høgste.
