Herren sa til Moses: «Se, du skal få dø nå og finne hvile hos forfedrene dine. Da skal dette folket stå opp og være utro mot Meg ved å tilbe avgudene i det landet de kommer inn i. De skal forlate Meg og bryte den bindende avtalen Jeg har inngått med dem. Da blir Jeg rasende på dem og kommer til å forlate dem, og Jeg vil holde Meg borte fra dem.
