Norwegian 2018 (Bibelen - Guds Ord Hverdagsbibelen (Hermon Forlag))
What Does This Mean?
This verse talks about God's promise to give the land of Canaan to the Israelites, as He promised to their ancestors. It is God speaking, reaffirming His promise to His people.
Explained for Children
Imagine you promised your friend you would give them a big, beautiful park to play in, and this verse is like God saying He will keep that promise to His people, just like you would keep it to your friend.
Historical Background
This verse is from the book of Exodus, written by Moses around 1446-1406 BCE. It was written to the Israelites while they were wandering in the desert, reminding them of God's promise to give them the land of Canaan, which was the land of the Canaanites at that time.
Living It Out Today
Today, this verse reminds us of God's faithfulness and His promises. Just like God promised the land of Canaan to His people, He promises to fulfill His promises to us if we trust in Him.
