Daniel 10:16
Ndebele Bible - 2010
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from Daniel 10, an angel touches Daniel's lips to help him speak. Daniel then tells the angel that he feels very weak and troubled after seeing a vision.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're so sleepy that you can't even talk. Then someone gently wakes you up by touching your lips. That’s what happened to Daniel here, but instead of feeling sleepy, he felt scared from his dream. He was helped to talk about how weak and worried he felt.
Historical Background
This verse is part of the Book of Daniel, written around the 6th century BCE during the Babylonian exile. The book contains visions and prophecies given to Daniel by God through angels. The audience would have been Jews who were trying to maintain their faith under foreign rule.
Living It Out Today
When we face tough times or see something that upsets us deeply, like a scary movie, it can leave us feeling drained and unable to talk. This verse shows how even in such moments, help comes from unexpected places, allowing us to share our feelings.
