Ezekiel 20:28
Ndebele Bible - 2010
What Does This Mean?
God is speaking through Ezekiel, explaining that after He brought the Israelites into the promised land, they quickly turned away from Him. Instead of worshipping God, they sacrificed to idols on high hills and under thick trees, showing their disobedience.
Explained for Children
Imagine God gave you a beautiful new room in your house, but instead of appreciating it, you went outside to play with toys that weren't even yours. That's what the Israelites did. They forgot about God's gift and started worshipping other things.
Historical Background
This verse is from the book of Ezekiel, written by the prophet Ezekiel around 600 B.C. The Israelites had been exiled from their land, and God used Ezekiel to remind them of their past disobedience and the consequences of turning away from Him.
Living It Out Today
In today's context, it's easy to get distracted by the things around us and forget the bigger picture. For example, someone might win the lottery and then waste all their money on things that don't truly bring happiness. The verse reminds us to stay focused on what's truly important.
