Ezekiel 43:19
Ndebele Bible - 2010
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, God instructs that a young bullock should be given as a sin offering to the priests who are from the line of Zadok and who serve Him. This offering is meant to atone for sins.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a friend who always helps you clean up your room. God says that the priests, who are like the cleaners of the temple, should get a special gift. This gift is a young cow, which shows how important it is to clean up our mistakes.
Historical Background
The book of Ezekiel was written by the prophet Ezekiel, a priest and prophet, around 593-571 BCE. This verse is part of God's instructions to the priests about temple rituals. The audience would have been the exiled Israelites who were beginning to return from Babylon.
Living It Out Today
Today, we don't sacrifice animals for sin offerings, but we can think about making sincere apologies and doing acts of service for others as a way to show our commitment to God and to make amends.
