Isaiah 49:22
Ndebele Bible - 2010
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, God is speaking and says He will lift up His hand to the Gentiles, which means He will call them to bring His people back to their homeland. He will set a standard, like a flag, to guide them. The Gentiles will carry God's people's children to their homeland.
Explained for Children
Imagine God is like a dad at a playground, and He is asking other kids to help carry your little brother or sister home after playtime. He’s showing them where to go, and they’re all helping to bring the kids home safely.
Historical Background
The book of Isaiah was written by the prophet Isaiah around 700 BCE. This verse is part of Isaiah's prophetic messages to the Israelites, who were in exile. It promises that God will use foreign nations to help return His people to their homeland.
Living It Out Today
Today, this verse can remind us that God uses people from different backgrounds to help others in need. For example, a community can come together to help a family move into a new home, showing God's love and care for each other.
