Jeremiah 3:7
Ndebele Bible - 2010
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, God is speaking and says that even after Israel had done many bad things, He asked her to return to Him, but she did not. The sister of Israel, Judah, saw this and also refused to return to God.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a friend who did something wrong and you asked them to say sorry and come back to play, but they didn't. Then your other friend, who saw this, also decided not to come play. That's what happened here with God and His people.
Historical Background
Jeremiah 3:7 was written by the prophet Jeremiah during the time when the kingdom of Judah was declining. Jeremiah was addressing both Israel and Judah, warning them about their rebellious ways and the consequences they would face.
Living It Out Today
In a modern scenario, this verse can be applied to a person who has repeatedly done wrong and ignored opportunities to correct their behavior. Despite repeated attempts by someone who cares, they refuse to change, similar to how Israel and Judah refused God’s call.
