Jeremiah 5:6
Ndebele Bible - 2010
What Does This Mean?
Jeremiah is warning the people that because of their sins and turning away from God, they will face severe consequences. He uses animals like lions, wolves, and leopards to symbolize the dangers that will come and harm them.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a favorite toy that you keep ignoring. One day, you find that toy has been damaged by other toys that were left out. Just like that, Jeremiah is saying that the people will face trouble because they ignored God.
Historical Background
Jeremiah, a prophet in the 6th century BCE, wrote this during a time when the Kingdom of Judah was turning away from God and toward idol worship. The message was meant to warn the people of the impending consequences of their actions.
Living It Out Today
In modern times, this verse can remind us that ignoring our responsibilities or turning away from what is right can lead to negative consequences. For example, a student who neglects their studies might face poor grades or miss out on opportunities.
