Esperei com paciência que o Senhor me socorresse; então ele me ouviu e atendeu ao meu apelo.

Tirou-me dum poço de desespero, dum charco de lodo; pôs os meus pés sobre uma rocha, fez-me andar num caminho seguro.

Deu-me um novo cântico de louvor ao nosso Deus. Muitos poderão ouvir as coisas maravilhosas que fez e porão igualmente a sua confiança no Senhor.

Felizes são aqueles que põem a sua confiança no Senhor, que não confiam em gente orgulhosa, nem que se desvia para a mentira.

Senhor, meu Deus, têm sido muitas as maravilhas que tens feito e nós estamos sempre no teu pensamento. Eu queria poder falar de todas as tuas obras maravilhosas, mas não tenho palavras para o fazer; ninguém pode ser comparado contigo.

Não quiseste holocaustos nem ofertas, mas abriste-me os ouvidos; não são animais queimados que reclamas pelo pecado.
7
Então eu disse: “Aqui venho, ó Deus, como está escrito a meu respeito no livro do Senhor.
8
Deleito-me em fazer a tua vontade, meu Deus, porque a tua Lei está escrita no meu coração.”
9
Anunciei a toda a gente as boas notícias de justiça; não fui acanhado, como bem sabes, Senhor.
10
Não conservei para mim a tua justiça, mas preguei a todo o povo a tua salvação, o teu amor e a tua verdade através dos tempos.
11
Não me negues, Senhor, a tua misericórdia! Que o teu amor e verdade me guardem continuamente.
12
Porque os problemas se têm amontoado e já ultrapassam as minhas forças. Também o número dos meus pecados é maior do que os cabelos na minha cabeça; até tenho vergonha de levantar os olhos. O meu coração enfraquece dentro de mim.

Digna-te livrar-me, Senhor! Vem depressa em meu auxílio!
14
Que aqueles que procuram destruir a minha vida sejam apanhados pela confusão e vergonha.
15
Que tropecem e caiam os que troçam de mim; os que com afronta dizem: “É bem feito!”
16
Mas alegrem-se em ti todos os que te buscam. Que todos os que te amam e à tua salvação digam: “O Senhor é grande!”
17
Eu sou pobre e necessitado, mas o Senhor cuida de mim. Tu és o meu auxílio e o meu libertador, ó meu Deus! Vem depressa socorrer-me!
