O SENHOR me disse:

“Homem mortal, qual é a diferença entre a lenha da parreira e a madeira das demais árvores?

Por acaso a usam os artesãos para o seu trabalho? É que as pessoas sequer a usam para fazer um cabide?

A lenha da parreira só serve como combustível. O fogo a consome pelos extremos até queimá-la por dentro. Será que pode ser usada desse jeito pelo artesão?

Sequer servia quando estava inteira, quanto mais após o fogo a consumir!

“Portanto, eu, o Senhor DEUS, afirmo que assim como tenho destinado a lenha da parreira para o fogo, mais que a outro tipo de madeira; assim também tenho destinado para o mesmo fim os habitantes de Jerusalém.

Enfrentarei a cada um deles. Talvez sobrevivam a um fogo, mas algum outro acabará com eles. E quando os enfrentar, saberão que eu sou o SENHOR.

Tenho planejado destruir este país pela rebeldia dos seus habitantes. Eu, o Senhor DEUS, falei isto”.
