În acea zi, Iahve va pedepsi cu sabia Sa care este violentă, mare și foarte rezistentă. El va pedepsi Leviatanul reprezentând șarpele fugar și Leviatanul care simbolizează șarpele încolăcit. Va omorî monstrul Tanin din mare!

În acea zi va exista o vie remarcabilă.»! «Cântați despre ea!

Eu, Iahve, sunt paznicul ei. O ud permanent și o păzesc atât ziua, cât și noaptea – pentru ca nimeni să nu îi facă rău.
4
Nu sunt mânios deloc. Dar dacă voi găsi spini și mărăcini, voi pleca la luptă împotriva lor și îi voi arde pe toți.
5
Totuși, nu voi (mai) proceda astfel doar dacă aceștia vor căuta ocrotirea Mea și vor urmări să se împace cu Mine. Da, așa voi face atunci când vor accepta să se împace cu Mine.»

În zilele care vin, lui Iacov îi va crește rădăcină, Israel va înflori, va produce ramuri tinere și va umple întreaga lume cu fructe.

Oare l-a lovit Iahve cum i-a lovit pe cei care îl loveau? A fost el omorât cum au fost omorâți cei care îl decimau?
8
Tu, Doamne, Te-ai luptat cu el alungându-L, trimițându-l în exil! Cu suflarea Ta violentă l-ai transferat (teritorial) în ziua când a suflat vântul de la Est.

Deci astfel va fi achitată vina lui Iacov. Acesta va fi rezultatul direct al îndepărtării păcatului lui: faptul că Iahve va face din toate pietrele altarelor niște pietre de var sparte în bucăți; și nu vor mai rămâne în picioare nici astartele, nici stâlpii închinați soarelui!

Orașul fortificat este gol. A ajuns o locuință abandonată și devastată ca un deșert. Acolo pasc vițeii; în acel loc se odihnesc ei și îi mănâncă ramurile (plantelor crescute în mod sălbatic).

Când aceste ramuri se usucă, sunt rupte; iar femeile vin și fac focul cu ele. Pentru că acesta este un popor fără minte, Creatorul lor nu va avea milă de ei. Cel care i-a creat, nu îi va trata cu bunătate.
12
În acea zi, Iahve va treiera de la cursul Eufratului până la Râul Egiptului; iar voi, israelienii, veți fi adunați unul câte unul.
13
În acea zi, va suna o mare trompetă; iar cei care au murit în Asiria, împreună cu cei exilați în Egipt, vor veni și se vor închina lui Iahve pe sfântul munte, în Ierusalim.
