约坦 二十五岁登基，在 耶路撒冷 执政十六年。他母亲叫 耶路莎 ，是 撒督 的女儿。

约坦 事事效法他父亲 乌西雅 ，做耶和华视为正的事，只是没有进耶和华的殿。民众仍继续败坏。

约坦 建造耶和华殿的上门，大力修建 俄斐勒 的城墙。
4
他还在 犹大 山区建造城邑，在树林中建造营寨和瞭望塔。
5
他与 亚扪 人的王交战，打败了他们。在以后的三年中， 亚扪 人每年进贡六万八千两银子、小麦和大麦各二百二十万升。

约坦 日渐强盛，因为他坚守他的上帝耶和华的道。

约坦 其他的事及一切战绩和功业，都记在《 以色列 和 犹大 列王史》上。

他二十五岁登基，在 耶路撒冷 执政十六年。

约坦 与祖先同眠后，葬在 大卫 城。他儿子 亚哈斯 继位。
