耶和华如此说： “我休你们母亲的休书在哪里呢？ 我把你们卖给了我哪一个债主呢？ 看哪！你们被卖是因你们的罪孽， 你们的母亲被休是因你们的过犯。
2
为什么我来的时候，没有人在呢？ 为什么我呼唤的时候，没有人回应呢？ 难道我的手臂缩短了不能救赎吗？ 难道我没有能力解救吗？ 看哪！我发出斥责，使海洋干涸， 使河流成为旷野； 其中的鱼因无水而发臭， 因干渴而死去。

我使诸天以黑暗为衣服， 以麻布为遮盖。”
4
主耶和华赐给了我门徒的口舌， 使我知道怎样用话语扶助疲乏的人。 他每日清晨唤醒我， 唤醒我的耳朵， 使我能像门徒那样地听。
5
主耶和华开通了我的耳朵； 我没有悖逆， 也没有向后退缩。
6
我把我的背脊转给责打我的人， 把我的脸颊转给扯我胡须的人； 我没有掩面躲避羞辱和唾沫。
7
因为主耶和华帮助我， 所以我不受羞辱， 因此我使我的脸坚毅如石； 我知道我必不致蒙羞。
8
称我为义的那一位，与我相近； 谁敢与我争讼， 就让我们一同站起！ 谁是控告我的， 就让他近前来！
9
看哪！主耶和华帮助我， 谁能定我的罪呢？ 看哪！他们都必像衣服那样渐渐破旧； 蛀虫必咬噬他们。
10
你们中间谁是敬畏耶和华、 听他仆人声音的呢？ 谁是行在黑暗中、 没有亮光的呢？ 他就当依靠耶和华的名， 依赖自己的神！
11
看哪！你们一切点火、用火把围绕自己的， 就在你们火焰的光和你们所点的火把中走下去吧！ 你们必躺在痛苦之地—— 这就是从我手中临到你们的！
