約百 說、
2
我深知是如此、然人在天主面前怎得算為有義。
3
若要與天主辨別、萬中不能答一。
4
他有大智慧、大能力、違背他的誰不受禍。
5
他移山山不知覺、發怒將山翻倒。
6
使地震動離其所、又使地柱動搖。
7
命日不發光、日便無光、封閉晨星、晨生無亮。
8
惟獨他鋪張天幕、蹬在海濤之上。
9
造北斗、參星、昴星、並南方密宮。
10
行大事不可測量、行奇事不可勝數。
11
從我旁邊過去我卻不得見、在我面前行走我卻不知覺。
12
他奪去誰能阻擋、誰敢問他說、你作甚麽、
13
天主若不息怒、逞驕傲的人必屈服在其下。
14
既是如此、我何敢回答他、何敢選言與他辨別。
15
我雖有理也不敢回答、只好哀求審我的主。
16
然我呼籲、他一定應允麽、我不信他必聽我的聲音。
17
他擊打我如暴風、無故降多災與我。
18
連我喘息都不容、使我足足受苦難。
19
若論力量、他的力量至大、若論辨是非、誰能為我定日期。
20
我雖有理、恐怕我口使我顯為無理、我雖誠實、恐怕我口使我顯為虛詐。
21
我雖誠實、自己卻不覺、我厭惡我的性命。
22
無論善惡、他都勦滅、我說、善惡無分、都是一樣。
23
他若忽降災禍誅戮世人、便不顧無辜的人受難。
24
世界交在惡人手中、治世的人面都蒙蔽、使如此的不是他是誰呢。
25
我的日子速速過去、比跑報的更快、過得甚疾、末曾見福。
26
我的日子過去、快如扁舟、又如飛鷹抓物。
27
我若說、不如忘了我的仇怨、改變憂容、畧為歡暢、
28
我的患難尚在、不得不懼、我也知道你必不以我為無罪。
29
既以我為有罪、我又何必徒勞。
30
我雖用雪水洗浴、用醶潔淨我手、
31
你仍必使我陷在溷坑裏、甚至我的衣服都厭棄我。
32
主非凡人、原不像我、我如何可以回答他、如何可以與他同聽審判。
33
我與他中間、沒有聽訟的人、可以使我與他同服其斷。
34
惟望他不再責打我、不再使我驚懼、
35
我便敢與他辨論、不懼怕他、現在我卻不得如此。
