Vir die koorleier. Van Dawid, die dienaar van die Here.

In die hart van die goddelose het die opstand teen God die laaste woord. Die goddelose het geen vrees vir God nie
3
en praat net goed oor homself. Hy is altyd daarop uit om kwaad te doen en om te haat.
4
As hy praat, is dit kwaadwillig en vals; verstandig wees en goed doen bestaan nie vir hom nie.
5
Selfs as hy gaan lê, dink hy net kwaad uit; hy bly op 'n pad wat nie reg is nie; wat sleg is, verwerp hy nie.
6
Here, u liefde reik tot in die hemel, u trou tot in die wolke,
7
u geregtigheid tot op die hoogste berge, die reg wat U spreek, tot in die dieptes van die see. U sorg vir mens en dier, o Here.
8
Hoe kosbaar is u trou, o God! U beskerm die mense wat by U skuil.
9
In u huis geniet hulle oorvloed, U laat hulle drink uit die strome van u goedheid.
10
U is die bron van die lewe, deur u lig lewe ons.
11
Laat u liefde bly by dié wat U erken en u trou by dié wat opreg is.
12
Laat my nie onder die voete van eiegeregtige mense beland nie, moenie dat goddeloses my hier wegdryf nie!
13
Dié wat altyd onreg doen, val net daar waar hulle is; hulle word platgeslaan en kan nie weer opstaan nie.
