¿Qué significa esto?
In this verse from John's Gospel, Jesus appears on the shore early in the morning after a night of fishing for his disciples. The disciples do not recognize him at first because he is standing on the shore while they are in their boat.
Explicado para niños
Imagine you're playing hide and seek with your friend, but it's very early in the morning when everything looks a bit different. Your friend appears near a tree, but because of how bright or dark it is, you don't realize right away that it’s them!
Contexto histórico
The Gospel of John was written by the Apostle John around AD 90 for a community of early Christians facing challenges in their faith and understanding of Jesus. The cultural setting involves Greek thought mixed with Jewish traditions.
Aplicación para hoy
In today's context, this verse reminds us to be open-minded when we face situations that are unfamiliar or confusing. Just like the disciples who didn't recognize Jesus at first, sometimes we need a second look to see things from a new perspective.
