Explicado para niños
Imagine you're playing hide-and-seek with your friends at night and suddenly a friendly grown-up asks if you've got snacks. You look around but find nothing. That's just like what happened here, Jesus is asking his friends if they have food to share.
Contexto histórico
John, one of the disciples, wrote this gospel likely between AD 85-90 for a community of believers in Asia Minor. This scene takes place after Jesus has risen from the dead and he meets with some of his followers by the Sea of Galilee, where fishing was a common profession.
Aplicación para hoy
This verse can remind us that sometimes we may feel like we have nothing to offer or share when we face Jesus, but it's in those moments He asks us what we have, not just for Him but often as a prelude to doing something bigger together. Think about times when you thought you had nothing left to give and yet found unexpected ways to contribute.
