A cause de Sion je ne me tairai pas, à cause de Jérusalem, je ne me tiendrai pas tranquille jusqu'à ce que sa justice s'impose, comme une clarté, et son salut, comme un flambeau qui s'allume.

Alors les nations verront ta justice et tous les rois ta gloire; et on t'appellera d'un nom nouveau que la bouche du Seigneur désignera.

Tu seras une couronne de splendeur dans la main du Seigneur, un turban royal dans la paume de ton Dieu.

On ne te dira plus « Délaissée », on ne dira plus ta terre « Dévastation »; mais on t'appellera « Mon plaisir est en elle », et on appellera ta terre « L'Epousée »; car le Seigneur prend plaisir en toi, et ta terre sera épousée.

Comme un jeune homme épouse une jeune fille, ainsi tes fils t'épouseront; et comme la mariée fait la gaieté du marié, ainsi tu feras la gaieté de ton Dieu.

Sur tes murs, Jérusalem, j'ai posté des gardes; de jour comme de nuit, ils ne se tairont pas. Vous qui évoquez le Seigneur, pas de répit pour vous!

Ne lui laissez aucun répit, jusqu'à ce qu'il rétablisse Jérusalem et en fasse un sujet de louange sur la terre.
8
Le Seigneur l'a juré par sa main droite et par son bras puissant: Je ne donnerai plus ton blé à tes ennemis pour qu'ils le mangent, et les étrangers ne boiront plus le vin pour lequel tu t'es fatiguée;
9
mais ceux qui auront récolté le blé le mangeront et loueront le Seigneur, et ceux qui auront vendangé boiront le vin dans les cours de mon sanctuaire.

Passez, passez les portes! Préparez un chemin pour le peuple! Frayez, frayez la route, ôtez les pierres! Elevez une bannière au-dessus des peuples!

Le Seigneur le fait entendre aux extrémités de la terre: Dites à Sion la belle: Ton salut arrive; il a avec lui son salaire, sa rétribution le précède.
12
On les appellera « Peuple saint », « Rédimés du Seigneur »; et toi, on t'appellera « Cherchée », « Ville non délaissée ».
