Jó dolog az Urat dicsérni, nevednek, ó Fölséges, éneket zengeni,
3
hirdetni reggelenként kegyelmedet, éjjelente hűségedet
4
tízhúrú hárfával, énekszóval, lanttal.
5
Mert tetteiddel megörvendeztettél, Uram, s ujjongok kezed műveinek.
6
Milyen nagyok, Uram, műveid, milyen mélységesek gondolataid!
7
De az oktalan ember nem ismeri, s az esztelen nem érti ezt meg.
8
Amikor elburjánzanak, mint a fű, a bűnösök, és virágzásnak indulnak, akik gonoszt cselekszenek, s ez pusztulásukra lesz örökkön örökre.
9
De te, Uram, fölséges vagy örökké!
10
Mert íme, Uram, a te ellenségeid, a te ellenfeleid elvesznek, és akik gonoszat tesznek, mind szétszóródnak.
11
De engem erőssé teszel, mint a bivalyt, s gazdagon elárasztasz olajjal.
12
Szemem lenézi majd ellenségeimet, és gonosz támadóimról hallani fog fülem.
13
Az igaz virul majd, mint a pálma, és terebélyesedik, mint a Libanon cédrusa.
14
Az Úr házában vannak elültetve, Istenünk udvaraiban virulnak.
15
Még késő öregségükben is gyümölcsöt hoznak, bőven teremnek és jól érzik magukat,
16
hirdetve, hogy igazságos az Úr, az én menedékem, és nincs igazságtalanság benne.
