Hvorfor skal hedningene si: Hvor er nå deres Gud?

Vår Gud er jo i himmelen. Han gjør alt det han vil.

Deres avguder er sølv og gull, et verk av menneskehender.

De har munn, men taler ikke. De har øyne, men ser ikke.
6
De har ører, men hører ikke. De har nese, men lukter ikke.
7
Deres hender føler ikke, føttene deres går ikke, de har ingen røst i sin strupe.

Som de selv er, slik blir også de som lager dem, hver den som setter sin lit til dem.

Israel, stol på Herren! Han er hjelp og skjold for dem.

Arons hus, stol på Herren! Han er hjelp og skjold for dem.

Dere som frykter Herren, stol på Herren! Han er hjelp og skjold for dem.

Herren kommer oss i hu og velsigner oss. Han velsigner Israels hus, han velsigner Arons hus.

Han velsigner dem som frykter Herren, de små med de store.

Må Herren la dere øke i tall, både dere og deres barn!
15
Velsignet være dere av Herren, himmelens og jordens skaper!

Himmelen er Herrens himmel, men jorden har han gitt til menneskenes barn.

De døde priser ikke Herren, ingen av dem som farer ned i dødsrikets stillhet.

Men vi skal love Herren fra nå av og til evig tid. Halleluja!
