Lov Herren! For det er godt å lovsynge vår Gud, det er herlig, lovsang sømmer seg.

Herren bygger Jerusalem, de bortdrevne av Israel samler han.
3
Han helbreder dem som har et nedbrutt hjerte, og forbinder deres smertefulle sår.
4
Han fastsetter stjernenes tall, han gir dem alle navn.
5
Stor er vår Herre, han er rik på kraft, hans forstand er uten mål.
6
Herren holder de nedbøyde oppe, men de ugudelige bøyer han til jorden.
7
Svar Herren med takk, lovsyng vår Gud til sitar.
8
Han er den som dekker himmelen med skyer, som sørger for at jorden får regn, som lar gress spire fram på fjellene.
9
Dyrene gir han føde, ravnunger som skriker.
10
Han har ingen glede av hestens styrke, han har ikke behag i mannens ben.
11
Herren har behag i dem som frykter ham, som venter på hans miskunn.
12
Pris Herren, Jerusalem! Lov din Gud, Sion!
13
For han har gjort dine portbommer sterke, og han har velsignet dine barn inne hos deg.
14
Han er den som gir dine grenser fred. Han metter deg med den beste hvete.
15
Han er den som sender sitt budskap til jorden, hurtig løper hans ord.
16
Han er den som gir snø som ull, han som strør ut rim som aske.
17
Sine hagl kaster han ut som smuler, hvem kan stå seg mot hans kulde?
18
Han sender sitt ord og smelter dem, han lar sin vind blåse og vannet renner.
19
Han kunngjorde for Jakob sitt ord, for Israel sine bud og sine lover.
20
Slik har han ikke gjort mot noe hedningefolk, hans lover kjenner de ikke. Halleluja!
