Herrens Ord kom til meg igjen: «Esekiel, du bor midt i blant en opprørsk slekt. De har øyne å se med og ører å høre med. Likevel verken ser eller hører de, for de er opprørske. Derfor skal du, Esekiel, gjøre klart det du trenger for å dra bort for å bo og tjene andre folkeslag. Du skal demonstrere dette foran øynene på folket ditt. Om dagen skal du bære ut sakene dine som om du skal dra i fangenskap, og om kvelden skal du dra ut foran øynene på dem, slik som de som drar i fangenskap.
