Em face da severa opressão, os homens clamam; pedem socorro por causa do braço dos poderosos.

Mas ninguém diz: Onde está Deus, meu Criador, que inspira canções durante a noite;

que nos ensina mais do que aos animais da terra e nos faz mais sábios do que as aves do céu?

Ali clamam, mas ele não responde, por causa da arrogância dos maus.

Com certeza Deus não ouve gritos inúteis, nem para eles atentará o Todo-poderoso.

Muito mais quando dizes que não o vês. A causa está diante dele; por isso, espera nele.

Mas agora, na sua ira ele não está punindo, nem leva muito em conta a arrogância;

por isso, Jó abre inutilmente a boca e sem conhecimento multiplica palavras.
