Jeová, tu me sondas e conheces.
2
Tu conheces o meu sentar e o meu levantar; de longe, entendes o meu pensamento.
3
Esquadrinhas a minha vereda e o meu pouso; estás ciente de todos os meus caminhos.
4
Pois ainda a palavra não está na minha língua, já tu, Jeová, a conheces toda.
5
Por detrás e por diante, me cercas e pões sobre mim a tua mão.
6
Tal conhecimento é maravilhoso demais para mim; elevado é, não o posso atingir.
7
Para onde me irei do teu Espírito? Ou para onde fugirei da tua presença?
8
Se eu subir aos céus, lá tu estás; se eu fizer a minha cama no Sheol, eis que estás ali.
9
Se eu tomar as asas da alva, e habitar nas extremidades do mar,
10
ainda lá me guiará a tua mão, e me susterá a tua destra.
11
Se eu disser: Certamente, as trevas me encobrirão, e a luz ao redor de mim se tornará noite;
12
até as trevas não são demasiado escuras para ti, mas a noite resplandece como o dia. Para ti, tanto fazem as trevas como a luz.
13
Pois tu formaste os meus rins, entrelaçaste-me no ventre de minha mãe.
14
Graças te darei, pois sou assombrosa e maravilhosamente feito. Maravilhosas são as tuas obras, e a minha alma o sabe muito bem.
15
Não te era oculta a minha forma, quando fui feito às ocultas e primorosamente tecido nas profundezas da terra.
16
Os teus olhos viram a minha substância ainda informe; e no teu livro, foram escritos os dias, todos os dias que foram ordenados, quando nenhum deles ainda existia.
17
Para mim, quão preciosos são os teus pensamentos, ó Jeová! Quão grande é a soma deles!
18
Se eu os contasse, são eles mais numerosos do que a areia. Quando acordo, ainda estou contigo.
19
Oxalá que tirasses a vida ao perverso, ó Deus. Apartai-vos de mim, homens sanguinários.
20
Eles se rebelam malvadamente contra ti, e os teus inimigos tomam em vão o teu nome.
21
Não aborreço eu, Jeová, os que te aborrecem? Não abomino eu os que se levantam contra ti?
22
Aborreço-os com ódio completo; eles se tornaram os meus inimigos.
23
Sonda-me, ó Deus, e conhece o meu coração; prova-me e conhece os meus pensamentos;
24
vê se em mim há algum caminho de perversidade e guia-me pelo caminho eterno.
