(Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. După Iedutun. Un psalm al lui David.) Da, numai în Dumnezeu mi se încrede sufletul; dela El îmi vine ajutorul.

Da, El este Stînca şi Ajutorul meu, Turnul meu de scăpare; nicidecum nu mă voi clătina.
3
Pînă cînd vă veţi năpusti asupra unui om, pînă cînd veţi căuta cu toţii să- l doborîţi ca pe un zid gata să cadă, ca pe un gard gata să se surpe?
4
Da, ei pun la cale să- l doboare din înălţimea lui: le place minciuna; cu gura binecuvintează, dar cu inima blastămă. -
5
Da, suflete, încrede-te în Dumnezeu, căci dela El îmi vine nădejdea.
6
Da, El este Stînca şi Ajutorul meu, Turnul meu de scăpare: nicidecum nu mă voi clătina.
7
Pe Dumnezeu se întemeiază ajutorul şi slava mea; în Dumnezeu este stînca puterii mele, locul meu de adăpost.
8
Popoare, în orice vreme, încredeţi-vă în El, vărsaţi-vă inimile înaintea Lui! Dumnezeu este adăpostul nostru. -
9
Da, o nimica sînt fiii omului! Minciună sînt fiii oamenilor! Puşi în cumpănă toţi la olaltă, ar fi mai uşori decît o suflare
10
Nu vă încredeţi în asuprire, şi nu vă puneţi nădejdea zădarnică în răpire; cînd cresc bogăţiile, nu vă lipiţi inima de ele.
11
Odată a vorbit Dumnezeu, de două ori am auzit că’ Puterea este a lui Dumnezu.’
12
A Ta, Doamne, este şi bunătatea, căci Tu răsplăteşti fiecăruia după faptele lui.
