Vai de cei ce se coboară în Egipt după ajutor și se reazemă pe cai și se încred în care pentru că sunt multe și în călăreți pentru că sunt foarte puternici și nu se uită la Sfântul lui Israel, nici nu caută pe Domnul.

Și totuși el este înțelept și va aduce răul și nu‐și întoarce cuvintele și se va scula împotriva casei făcătorilor de rele și împotriva ajutorului lucrătorilor nelegiuirii.

Și Egiptenii sunt oameni și nu Dumnezeu și caii lor carne și nu duh. Și Domnul își va întinde mâna și cel ce ajută se va poticni și cel ce este ajutat va cădea și amândoi vor pieri împreună,

Căci așa mi‐a zis Domnul: După cum leul sau puiul de leu răcnește asupra prăzii sale, când s‐a adunat împotriva lui o mulțime de păstori, nu se teme de glasul lor, nici nu se supune înaintea strigării lor: tot așa Domnul oștirilor se va coborî să se lupte pe muntele Sion și pe dealurile lui.

Ca păsările cu aripile întinse, așa va acoperi Domnul oștirilor Ierusalimul; va acoperi și îl va izbăvi, va trece peste el și‐l va scăpa.

Întoarceți‐vă la acela, de la care v‐ați abătut atât de mult, copii ai lui Israel!
7
Căci în ziua aceea, fiecare își va lepăda idolii de argint și idolii de aur pe care vi i‐au făcut mâinile voastre pentru păcat.
8
Și Asirianul va cădea de sabie, nu de om; și o sabie nu de oameni îl va sfâșia. Și va fugi de sabie și tinerii lui vor fi birnici.
9
Și stânca lui va trece de teamă și mai marii lui se vor spăimânta de steag, zice Domnul, al cărui foc este în Sion și cuptorul său în Ierusalim.
