„Iahve vorbește astfel: «Observ cum se ridică niște ape din Nord. Ele cresc la fel ca un torent care se revarsă. Inundă țara și tot ce există în ea, orașul și locuitorii lui. Oamenii vor țipa; toți locuitorii țării vor urla

când vor auzi tropăitului copitelor armăsarilor care vin în forță și când se va auzi zgomotul carelor dușmanilor și al huruitului roților lor. Părinții nu se vor întoarce după copiii lor; iar mâinile lor vor fi incapabile să ofere ajutor –

pentru că vine ziua când vor fi distruși toți filistenii și când vor fi omorâți toți supraviețuitorii care ar putea ajuta Tirul și Sidonul. Iahve îi va distruge pe filisteni care sunt urmașii celor din insula Caftor.

Gaza va deveni fără păr și Așchelonul va fi redus la tăcere. Supraviețuitori din câmpie, până când vă veți face singuri tăieturi?»”

„Ah, sabie a lui Iahve, când vei înceta să lovești? Întoarce-te în teaca ta! Oprește-te și stai liniștită!”
