Iob a luat cuvântul și a zis:

„Cum l-ai ajutat tu pe cel fără putere și cum ai salvat brațul fără vigoare!

Cum l-ai sfătuit pe cel fără înțelepciune și cât de mult ai făcut cunoscut planul!

Cui i-ai făcut cunoscute cuvintele și ce fel de suflare iese din tine?

Morții tremură dedesubtul apelor și al celor care le locuiesc.
6
Locuința morților este goală înaintea lui și nu este văl pentru împărăția morții.
7
Întinde nordul peste abis și atârnă pământul de ceea ce nu este.
8
Leagă apele de norii săi și norul nu se rupe sub ele.
9
Acoperă fața tronului său și-și întinde norul peste el.
10
Trasează o limită pe suprafața apelor, până la extremitatea dintre lumină și întuneric.
11
Coloanele cerului se cutremură și se uimesc la amenințarea lui.
12
Prin puterea lui, tulbură marea, prin pricepere, îl zdrobește pe Raháb.
13
Cu suflarea lui, înseninează cerul și mâna lui străpunge șarpele fugar.
14
Iată, acestea sunt marginile căilor sale! Este un murmur cuvântul pe care-l auzim despre el? Tunetul puterii sale, cine-l poate înțelege?”.
