Naj vriskata puščava in goljava, raduje naj se pustinja in naj cvete kakor narcisa.

Bujno naj cvete, naj se raduje in radostna vriska. Dano ji bo veličastvo Libanona, krasota Karmela in Šaróna. Gledali bodo Gospodovo veličastvo, krasoto našega Boga.

Okrepíte utrujene roke, utrdíte klecava kolena.

Recite njim, ki so plahega srca: »Bódite močni, nikar se ne bojte! Glejte, vaš Bog! Maščevanje prihaja, Božje povračilo, on prihaja, da vas reši!«

Tedaj bodo spregledale oči slepih, gluhim se bodo odprla ušesa.

Tedaj bo hromi skakal kakor jelen, jezik nemega bo vriskal. Kajti v puščavi se bodo odprli vrelci, v pustinji potoki.

Goljava bo postala jezero, žejna dežela vrelci vodá, počivališče v pokrajini šakalov bo trata za trstje in bičje.

Tam bo utrjena pot, imenovali jo bodo Sveta pot, nečisti ne bo hodil po njej. Gospod jim bo utiral pot, niti bedni ne bodo zašli.
9
Tam ne bo leva, huda zver ne bo stopila nanjo, ne bo je najti, tam bodo hodili le odrešeni.
10
Gospodovi osvobojenci se bodo vrnili in prišli s pesmijo na Sion. Nad njihovo glavo bo večno veselje, dosegli bodo radost in veselje, žalost in vzdihovanje bosta zbežala.
