Uthålligt väntade jag på HERREN, tills han böjde sig ner till mig och hörde mitt rop.

Han drog upp mig ur fördärvets grop, upp ur träsket och dyn, han satte mina fötter på en klippa och ställde mig på fast mark.
4
Han gav mig en ny sång i min mun, en lovsång till vår Gud, Många ska se det och frukta och sätta sin lit till HERREN.
5
Lycklig är den som förtröstar på HERREN och som inte vänder sig till de stolta, till dem som viker av till falska gudar.
6
HERRE, min Gud, du har gjort många under och planer för oss. Ingen är som du. Om jag ville tala och berätta om dem, är de så många att jag inte kan räkna dem.
7
Offer och gåvor önskade du inte. — Du har gett mig öron som hör. — Brännoffer och syndoffer frågade du inte efter.
8
Då sa jag: ”Se, här är jag. I bokrullen står det skrivet om mig.
9
Jag vill göra din vilja, min Gud, för din lag är i mitt hjärta.”
10
Jag förkunnar rättfärdighet i den stora församlingen, jag tillsluter inte min mun, det vet du, HERRE.
11
Jag döljer inte din rättfärdighet inom mig, jag talar om din trofasthet och räddning. Jag döljer inte din nåd och sanning inför den stora församlingen.
12
HERRE, ta inte din barmhärtighet ifrån mig, låt din nåd och sanning bevara mig.
13
Olyckor utan tal omger mig, mina synder har hunnit ifatt mig och jag orkar inte se dem. De är fler än hårstråna på mitt huvud, och hela mitt livsmod sviktar.
14
HERRE, jag ber, befria mig! Skynda dig och kom till min hjälp!
15
Låt skam och vanära komma över alla dem som är ute efter mitt liv och vill utplåna det. Låt dem som vill min olycka vända tillbaka i förnedring.
16
Låt dem som nu hånskrattar ”haha, haha” åt mig häpna och skämmas.
17
Men låt alla som söker dig glädjas och jubla i dig, låt dem som älskar din räddning alltid säga: ”HERREN är stor!”
18
Jag är betryckt och fattig, men ändå tänker Herren på mig. Du är min hjälp och befriare, min Gud, dröj inte!
