当时，巴拉但的儿子、巴比 伦王米罗达巴拉但听说希西家王害病和康复的消息，就派人送来慰问信和礼物。

希西家王欢迎使节，领他们参观库房，让他们看了库藏的金银、香料、贵重的膏油、武库中的军备；王室和全国各地的库藏都领他们看了个遍。

先知以赛亚去见希西家王，问∶“这些人是从哪里来的？跟你说了些什么？” 希西家答道∶“他们是从远方一个叫巴比伦的国家来的。”

以赛亚问∶“他们在王宫里看了什么？” 希西家答道∶“他们什么都看了。我把库藏的东西都给他们看了。”

于是，以赛亚对希西家王说∶“听着，全能的主是这样说的∶

‘时候快要到了！你王宫里的每一样东西和你祖先传留至今的每一件东西都将被搬到巴比伦去，一件也剩不下。
7
你的一些嫡系后代也要被掳走，到巴比伦王的宫里当太监。’”
8
希西家王对以赛亚说∶“主藉你说的话是个好消息。”因为他想∶“这预示在我的有生之年，必有太平和安定的景况。”
