En sang af David. Min sjæl, pris Herren, alt i mig skal ophøje den hellige Gud.

Min sjæl, pris Herren, glem ikke hans velgerninger.

Han tilgiver alle mine synder og helbreder alle mine sygdomme.
4
Han frier mig fra dødens gab, velsigner mig med sin nåde og godhed.
5
Han mætter mig med gode gaver, jeg får min livskraft igen som ørnen.
6
Han lader retfærdigheden ske fyldest, så de undertrykte får deres ret.
7
Han åbenbarede sine planer for Moses, Israels folk var vidner til hans undere.
8
Herren er barmhjertig og nådig med tålmodig og trofast kærlighed.
9
Han fortsætter ikke med at anklage os, bliver ikke ved med at være vred.
10
Han giver os ikke løn som forskyldt, straffer os ikke i forhold til vore synder.
11
Så højt som himlen er over jorden, så stor er hans nåde mod dem, der har ærefrygt.
12
Så langt som østen er fra vesten, har han fjernet vore synder fra os.
13
Som en far er barmhjertig mod sine børn, er Herren barmhjertig mod dem, der ærer ham.
14
Han forstår, hvor skrøbelige vi er, han ved, at vi kun er som støv.
15
Vores liv på jorden er som græsset, som markblomster, der hurtigt forsvinder.
16
Blæsten gør en ende på blomsten, man skulle tro, den aldrig havde været der.
17
Men Herrens trofasthed er evig, den omslutter dem, der ærer ham. Hans godhed bliver alle generationer til del,
18
hvis de holder hans pagt og adlyder hans bud.
19
Herren sidder på sin trone i Himlen, alt er underlagt hans herredømme.
20
Lovpris Herren, alle hans engle, I vældige krigere, som adlyder hans ordrer og udfører alle hans befalinger.
21
Ja, pris Herren, I englehære, som tjener ham og udfører hans vilje.
22
Pris Herren, alle hans skabninger, hvor I end befinder jer i hans rige. Min sjæl, pris Herren.
